Institute of Religion programs offer weekday religious instruction for young adults, ages 18-35, to help them deepen their commitment to Jesus Christ and find spiritual direction for their lives. Below are the courses that institute provides. However, not all courses are offered at every program. Please refer to myInsitute to see which courses are offered at your local institute program.
All 2-credit institute courses can be divided into half and offered as two 1-credit courses, which can be identified with “A” or “B” after the course title in myInstitute. Students will need to complete both 1-credit parts of a course to transfer CES credits. Students may retake courses to receive institute credit each time they complete a course. Only R classes can be retaken to earn additional transferable credit. For more information, reach out to your program coordinator or instructor.

031 – Devotional or Lecture Series
Deepen your faith and hope in Jesus Christ as you join us for weekly devotionals. Guest speakers will share life-experiences and how they have gained strength and purpose through relying on Jesus Christ and living His Gospel. Potential topics that speakers might address can be found here.
099R – Workshops
Workshops are a short one-to-five-week experience focused on helping young adults come unto Christ by acting on gospel principles and may be held to address specialty topics or to teach specific skills.
110 – Institute Choir (Non-auditioned)
This is a non-auditioned SATB choir that rehearses weekly at the Institute. The choir rehearses and performs selections of sacred music at performances that include Institute devotionals, musical firesides, and other concerts. Participating in choir will provide a musical, spiritual, and social experience to help you connect with the Savior and other young adults. Your singing voice, love of God, and individual personality are needed.

ACT00 – Regularly Recurring Activities and Offerings
ACT00 is for regularly recurring activities and offerings, typically held weekly. These activities provide an environment for students to associate together, invite their friends to participate, and gather for service opportunities, social interaction, and leadership training. Examples include drama productions, dance instruction, athletic tournaments, art instruction, yoga, pickleball, volleyball, clubs, and so forth.
Independent Study
Independent Study Courses
Students who are unable to attend a regularly scheduled institute class may request the option of an independent study course. These courses have minimum completion requirements, which qualifies this course for credit. (see “Credit” policy). However, these courses are not transferable.
