When trying to register for an institute class, you may receive the following error: “You have a schedule conflict with this class and an existing enrollment.”
If this appears, please use the following steps to successfully register for your desired class.
Check Your Dashboard
If myInstitute detects a conflict in your schedule at the same time as the class you are registering for, it will show the schedule conflict error as a precaution. However, you may be able to register for the class regardless. To find out if you are successfully registered, go to the myInstitute homepage and navigate to the profile icon in the top right corner of the page, which looks like a person. After selecting this icon, a drop-down will appear.
Click on the My Dashboard option in this drop-down. If you haven’t signed in to your Church account yet, the only option on the drop-down will be Sign In. Once you have signed in, you will be able to see your Dashboard. Your dashboard shows you your current classes and offers more information about them. If the class you were trying to register for appears on your dashboard, you have successfully signed up for the course.
If the Course Does Not Appear in Your Dashboard
If you look at your dashboard and do not find the course you are trying to register for, then you will be able to check your calendar and free up the necessary time to attend that course. Your calendar appears in your profile like your dashboard. Look at your schedule page by selecting schedule on the left-hand side of your profile. If there is a class at the same time as the course you are trying to register for, you can drop that class on your dashboard or school account page. If you would like to keep your classes how they are, you can take the institute course another time when you no longer have a conflict in your schedule or find another day/time that same course may be offered.
FAQ:
What if I see the schedule conflict error, but I don’t have a class at the time of the institute course I am trying to register for?
At any time, you may do a Quick Sign Up for most in-person institute courses. Once you have selected the Register icon for an in-person class, you will see two options. One says Login & Register, and the other says Quick Sign Up. This is a good option for signing up and getting in contact with the course teacher and getting registered by them or by your school councilor later. Once you provide some key information (name, email, and birthdate) you will be signed up for the class, and it will appear on your dashboard as if you registered. If you are trying to sign up for an online course, or Quick Sign Up is not available for the course you want, you can talk with your school counselor. They can fix most errors with scheduling or classes that may come up.
