You may have noticed an issue where some students (particularly freshmen) are showing that they have a Church account, but that account is not syncing to their WISE profile. Because of this, students cannot see their classes on MySeminary to mark their reading.
The root cause is usually due to a missed step during account creation. When prospective seminary students are setting up their Church accounts for the first time, students have the option to bypass the step to enter their Membership Record Number (MRN) because the system gives them an option to "add it later."
To fix this and link their accounts properly, have the student follow these steps:
- Log in to account.churchofjesuschrist.org using their Church account username and password.
- Locate the membership section and add their MRN to their account. There will be a button that says “Membership”.
- Once saved, have the student refresh MySeminary.
After the MRN is successfully added, the student will be able to see their class in MySeminary, and their username will show up on their WISE profile.
