An important way to love those you teach and invite the Holy Ghost to help you teach by the Spirit is to begin preparing the learning experience with prayer. Consider the needs of your students. Maybe there is one student in particular that you really hope to help with this learning experience. Pray for them by name. As you focus on one, your love for all of your students will increase. They will feel it!
As President Henry B. Eyring prayed for individual students he taught in an early morning class, he shared, “I learned that for me there is greater power in praying for a child of God than for a group of them” (“To Know and to Love God,” Address to Religious Educators, Feb. 26, 2010).
You can watch his account from time code 12:28 to 16:24.
Before you prepare consider who you feel a need to pray for specifically. Consider also what needs you feel a necessity to pray for. Petition Heavenly Father for those needs.
